a magical day in the beautiful waikato with these gorgeous people

A warm and sunny Monday's afternoon in August, in the barn with a few friends and family- the perfect setting for a couple who have long been a dream team and want nothing but a relaxed afternoon to celebrate the commitments they have together.

Moving their lives from the big city to chase the dream of rural living, raising children, looking after cows/chickens/pigs, a mini tornado and even recently- a global pandemic...it just made sense to have a relaxed and intimate ceremony at home.

I couldn't agree more...what a beautiful, relaxed day with plenty of smiles and fun, loving children.

Family vibes here big time, the children were a big part of the ceremony from walking Beverley down the isle and handing over the rings...typically it can be tricky incorporating young children into a wedding....however having a backyard setting and less fuss made this run very smoothly for the little ones.

In accordance with doing things the way it just makes sense- it just made sense to have cake and bubbles following on from the ceremony. The children bounced around dancing in the barn as everyone else enjoyed some cake and banter....perfect.

Then off we went for a few photos around the backyard before getting everyone together for a few family group photos before finishing up for the day

Thank you so much Beverley and Dwayne for inviting me into your home, your excellent hospitality and having me for such an intimate, relaxed day.

If any other couples are thinking about doing things their own way or perhaps compacting their pre-wedding covid plans to something more relaxed and homely- I can honestly say that these kinds of weddings are my absolute favourite to work with. The emotions, the love and celebration of a small and relaxed gig in the backyard is just as true of any wedding with a hundred people as long as genuine love exists :)
