Prosecco, Shania Twain and dancing in the Rain
Lauren, who has a sweet cakery in Auckland reached out wanting to capture some memories for her partners parents 40th wedding anniversary. I knew this was going to be a fun gig as Kelly, Laurens sister in law had described the "family as f***ing awesome" in my pre-shoot questionnaire- this was one of the tell tale signs that this was a family with a sense of humor and up for anything!
Being up for anything was pretty lucky as the rain swept over the North Island...these guys were all from out of town and 40th wedding anniversaries cannot be rescheduled- but it didn't take much convincing to bring these guys down to the lake in the rain for some fun family photos.
And they were fun alright! A bottle of wine, some Shania Twain and dancing in the rain. Plenty of giggles, jokes and tears (it wasn't my hay fever, right guys? 😅) It was an absolute blast framing this family.
Such an inspiration meeting Neville and Christine, they might have been married for forty years and spent their entire life in Gisborne...yet they are very clearly still very much keeping those honey moon vibes alive and well. Judging from these two, it appears that a great sense of humor and a willingness to celebrate love despite the weather is the secret to a long lasting, healthy marriage.
Thank you so much for having me and thank you to Lula McIver Photography for recommending me to these wonderful people!
